Vartaforge

Vartaforge is an editorial platform for regional Indic newsrooms: independent journalists, hyperlocal digital publications and mid-size dailies publishing in Marathi, Hindi, Gujarati, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Punjabi and Odia.

Most AI writing tools produce copy that an editor in those newsrooms rejects on sight, because it is culturally tone-deaf and sounds like nobody in particular. Vartaforge starts from the publisher’s own archive.

The Voice Card

The centrepiece is a per-publisher artefact that captures how that publication actually writes: its fingerprint, signature phrases, headline habits, story templates, cultural notes and persona. Everything the platform generates is generated in that voice, and the publisher can read the card, correct it, and own it. The brand book calls this editorial sovereignty.

Where it is

The tenancy foundation, the voice-capture pipeline and the generation surfaces exist. The studio is a React app; the marketing site is built on Astro. It is in build, not in market. A landing page follows when there is something a publisher can sign up for.
